HAIHAIS  () , or XaiXais, First Nation traditionally occupied the complex network of inlets and passages leading north out of Milbanke Sound on the Central Coast. Their language is Oowekyala-Heiltsuk, the central language of Northern WAKASHAN people (see also FIRST NATIONS LANGUAGES), and they are usually grouped with the OWEEKENO and the Heiltsuk (Bella Bella) First Nations as the HEILTSUK people.
