Halfway River

HALFWAY RIVER, pop 220, is a predominantly DUNNE-ZA (Beaver) community in the TREATY NO 8 area northwest of FORT ST JOHN. It was formed in 1977 following a division of the Hudson Hope band into the W Moberley and Halfway River bands. The Halfway R is a tributary of the PEACE R. The FOREST INDUSTRY is the main employer.
