HOLBERG is a tiny community at the head of Holberg Inlet, one of the arms of QUATSINO SOUND near the northern tip of VANCOUVER ISLAND, 36 km west of PORT HARDY. Early Danish settlers located in this area after a colony they established at CAPE SCOTT failed; they named their new community after the 18th-century Danish writer Baron Ludwig Holberg.
