KEARNS, Lionel, teacher, writer (b 16 Feb 1937, Nelson). While studying at UBC in the 1960s he became involved in the TISH movement of poets and published his first books of verse, Songs of Circumstance (1962) and Listen, George (1964). After further studies in England and Trinidad he returned to VANCOUVER in 1966 to join the English department at SFU, where he remained until his retirement in 1986. During this period he published several more books of poetry, including Convergences (1984)...
