KELLY, Robert, wholesale grocer (b 1862, Russell, ON; d 22 June 1922, Vancouver). He came to VANCOUVER in 1890, and he and his partner Frank Douglas co-founded the large wholesale grocery business Kelly Douglas Ltd. The firm prospered during the boom associated with the Klondike GOLD RUSH. Its own brand name, Nabob, became a household word in BC.
