KOOCANUSA RESERVOIR () , 273.9 sq km, straddles the Canada–US border in the E KOOTENAY south of FERNIE. It is a widening of the KOOTENAY R formed in 1973 when the Libby Dam was built on the river near Libby, MT. The reservoir extends 110 km south from WARDNER. Of its total area, 141.3 sq km are in BC. The name comes from Koo(tenay), Can(ada), and USA....
