LADNER, Thomas Ellis, farmer, fish canner (b 8 Sept 1837, Cornwall, England; d 24 Apr 1922, Vancouver). He went to the US in 1851 to join his father and his brother William LADNER), who earlier had settled in Wisconsin. The following year, after the death of their father, the brothers crossed the Great Plains by wagon train to California, where they prospected for gold for several years.
