Lakelse Hot Springs


LAKELSE HOT SPRINGS are south of TERRACE on the way to KITIMAT in Lakelse Lk Provincial PARK (3.62 sq km). TOURIST facilities were established here in 1910 and the sport FISHING is excellent. More than 100 bird species visit the lake, including trumpeter SWANS, EAGLES, OSPREY and OWLS. Williams Crk is a sockeye SALMON spawning area. On 17 Jan 1974 the lake received 118.1 cm of snow, a Canadian record for a 24-hr period.
