Lower Nicola

LOWER NICOLA, pop 464, is an old SCE'EXMX village, also known as Shulus, in the NICOLA Valley northwest of MERRITT. A large community-owned cattle herd ranges just west of here (see CATTLE INDUSTRY). There is a new health centre in the village, as well as several arts-oriented businesses and a golf range.
