MacInnis, Grace Winona (Woodsworth)

MacINNIS, Grace Winona (Woodsworth), politician (b 25 July 1905, Winnipeg, MB; d 10 July 1991, Vancouver). The daughter of J.S. Woodsworth, founding father of the CCF, she was raised in a highly political environment. In 1931 she became her father's secretary in Ottawa and the following year she married Angus MacINNIS, a Labour MP from VANCOUVER. She became a leading organizer for the newly formed CCF and in 1941 won election to the BC LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY. In 1945 she lost her seat but...
