MAYSE, Arthur William Caswell, writer (b 1912, St James Mission, MB; d 21 Mar 1992, Campbell River). He grew up in NANAIMO and VANCOUVER and was only 12 years old when he sold his first short story; poetry prizes paid for his tuition at UBC. He wrote for Vancouver NEWSPAPERS before going east, where he was fiction editor at Maclean's magazine until 1948.
