McCrory, Colleen

McCRORY, Colleen, environmentalist (b 5 Jan 1950, New Denver; d 1 July 2007, New Denver). She is one of the leading activists in the BC ENVIRONMENTAL MOVEMENT, and since 1976 has been chair of the Valhalla Wilderness Society. Her initiation into the movement was a successful 8-year campaign for the creation of Valhalla Provincial PARK (1983) near her hometown, NEW DENVER.
