McMAHON, Francis Murray Patrick "Frank," industrialist (b 2 Oct 1902, Moyie; d 20 May 1986, Bermuda). He was raised in KIMBERLEY and attended university in Spokane, WA, before dropping out and becoming a hardrock driller in the KOOTENAY mines. After moving to VANCOUVER in 1926, he began his career in the energy business, drilling without success for natural gas in the FRASER R delta.
