NORTHERN STRAITS FIRST NATIONS, a division of the Central Coast Salish people (see SALISHAN FIRST NATIONS), share a common language (see FIRST NATIONS LANGUAGES) and occupy the southern end of VANCOUVER ISLAND, SAN JUAN ISLAND, the southern GULF ISLANDS and the mainland around BOUNDARY BAY.
