Oceanic

OCEANIC, at the mouth of the SKEENA R on Smith Island 22 km south of PRINCE RUPERT, was the site of a SALMON CANNERY. It was built in 1903 by the BC Canning Co to replace its ABERDEEN plant, which had burned the previous year. It closed in 1929 and was destroyed by fire in 1935.
