ORCA BOOK PUBLISHERS is a BOOK PUBLISHING house in VICTORIA, founded in 1984 by Bob Tyrrell. Tyrrell, a former high school English teacher, formed the company to publish his own book, Island Pubbing, a guide to VANCOUVER ISLAND pubs. The company focusses on children's books, though it also publishes adult literature and trade non-fiction, including guidebooks. It won Publisher of the Year honours from the Canadian Booksellers Assoc in 1992.
