OUR LADY OF GOOD HOPE was an OBLATE mission established in 1873 near FORT ST JAMES at Stuart Lk as headquarters for missionary activity across northern BC. The church, still standing, is BC's oldest Catholic church and third-oldest church of any denomination. There was a RESIDENTIAL SCHOOL at the mission from 1917 until it was replaced by the school at LEJAC in 1922.
