PACIFIC PRESS publishes both the VANCOUVER SUN and the PROVINCE. It was formed in 1957 as a partnership of Sun Publishing, owned by the CROMIE family and publisher of the Sun, and Southam Press, publisher of the Province, to print the 2 daily NEWSPAPERS. Because the Sun was the larger partner, the Cromies received an equalization payment of $3.85 million.
