PARTRIDGE, grey (Perdix perdix), is a game bird occupying the OKANAGAN VALLEY, to which it spread from Washington state early in the 20th century. Grey-brown in colour with an orange face, it occupies an open habitat of dry rangeland and cultivated fields.
