Pemberton, Joseph Despard


PEMBERTON, Joseph Despard, engineer, surveyor (b 23 July 1821, Dublin, Ireland; d 11 Nov 1893, Oak Bay). After several years as an engineer on railway construction in Ireland and England, he joined the HBC as surveyor of VANCOUVER ISLAND and arrived in the colony in 1851.
