PITT POLDER, south of PITT LK in the FRASER VALLEY, was the site of an ambitious reclamation project following WWII. Dr Jan Blom purchased 27 sq km of marshy lowland on the east bank of the Pitt R used mainly for DUCK hunting and in 1950 formed Pitt Polder Ltd, with capital raised in Holland and locally from the KOERNER family.
