Port Mellon

PORT MELLON is a pulp mill site at the mouth of the Rainy R, on the west side of HOWE SOUND not far from Langdale. Originally used as a village site by the SQUAMISH nation, it was developed between 1907 to 1909 as a PULP AND PAPER mill by the British-Canadian Wood Pulp and Paper Co and named for one of the company's backers, Henry A.
