POWELL RIVER CO was started by Dr Dwight Brooks, Michael J. Scanlon and John O'Brien, 3 American lumbermen. The first 2 partners owned the second-largest forest company in the US. They came to BC in 1908 and purchased a large stand of timber in the FRASER VALLEY.
