PRINCESS LINE of elegant steamships, owned by the CPR, provided the most important steamship service along the BC coast for nearly 60 years. The fleet began when the CPR purchased the CANADIAN PACIFIC NAVIGATION CO in 1901, forming its BC Coast Steamship Service and revitalizing coastal service with new Princess vessels and new routes.
