Purcell Wilderness Conservancy


PURCELL WILDERNESS CONSERVANCY, 1,315.23 sq km, established in 1974, is a wilderness area in the PURCELL MTS northeast of KOOTENAY LK. It is dominated by several high peaks, in particular Mt Findlay and Hamill Peak. The main access route is the Earl Grey Pass Trail, named for a former gov gen of Canada who crossed the trail from INVERMERE to ARGENTA on horseback and foot in 1908.
