RAZUTIS, Al, filmmaker (b 28 Apr 1946, Bamberg, Germany). He became involved with experimental film in 1967, while studying sciences at California Western Univ. The next year he moved to VANCOUVER and joined the newly formed INTERMEDIA artists' co-operative. In 1972, combining arts activism with technical innovation, he established the Visual Alchemy Studio, a production facility equipped with an animation stand, holography lab and BC's first optical printer.
