RICKER, William Edwin "Bill," fisheries scientist (b 11 Aug 1908, Waterdown, ON; d 8 Sept 2001, Nanaimo). His accomplishments in fisheries science earned him worldwide recognition. He obtained his BA and PhD from the Univ of Toronto and began working at the PACIFIC BIOLOGICAL STATION (PBS) in NANAIMO in 1931.
