ROBBINS, Dave, musician (b 1923, Greenburg, IN; d 23 Sept 2005, Gibsons). Robbins was a trombonist with the popular Harry James band when he moved to VANCOUVER in 1951. He led groups of his own, including a big band that was heard on CBC radio between 1960 and 1966; he also appeared at the 1962 Seattle World's Fair and played Canadian premieres of works by Lalo Schifrin, Richard Rodney Bennett, John Dankworth and Matyas Seiber.
