ROBERTS BANK is a deep-water, COAL-loading "superport" located near TSAWWASSEN south of VANCOUVER. The terminal is a small island built from earth dredged to create a shipping channel. The island is linked to the mainland by a long causeway. The terminal opened in 1970 and was enlarged in 1983.
