Robertson, Alexander Rocke


ROBERTSON, Alexander Rocke, lawyer, politician (b 12 May 1841, Chatham, ON; d 1 Dec 1881, Victoria). Trained as a lawyer, he practised in Windsor, ON, until 1864 when he moved to VICTORIA. Colonial regulations did not allow him to practise law on VANCOUVER ISLAND, so after working briefly as a journalist he moved to NEW WESTMINSTER and was admitted to the bar of BC.
