Rogers, Albert Bowman


ROGERS, Albert Bowman, civil engineer, located Rogers Pass (b 28 May 1829, Orleans, MA; d 4 May 1889, Waterville, MN). A graduate of Yale Univ (1853), he worked as an engineer on canals and railways in the US before joining the CPR early in 1881. Placed in charge of finding a route through the ROCKY and SELKIRK mountain ranges, he supervised the survey of KICKING HORSE PASS in the southern Rockies, then turned his attention to the Selkirks.
