ROYSTON, pop 699, is a seafront community on the east side of VANCOUVER ISLAND, 5 km south of COURTENAY. For many years it was the terminus of a logging railway (see RWY LOGGING) owned by the Comox Logging and Railway Co that began LOGGING the central interior of the Island pre-WWI.
