Sewell's Marina


SEWELL'S MARINA, established in HORSESHOE BAY by Dan Sewell in 1931, is the largest boat rental marina of its kind in Canada. Operated by 3 generations of Sewells (Dan, his son Tom and his son Dan), the marina introduced the first motor-powered rowboats in BC, developed the use of HERRING strip as bait in SALMON sport FISHING, and pioneered the broadcasting of weather reports and fishing tips on the radio.
