SHADBOLT, Doris Meisel, curator, museum director, writer (b 28 Nov 1919, Preston, ON; d 22 Dec 2003, San Miguel de Allende, Mexico). Her positions in the museum world have included the Art Gallery of Ontario in Toronto, the National Gallery of Canada in Ottawa, the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and 25 years (1950–75) as educator, curator and associate director of the VANCOUVER ART GALLERY.
