Shoreacres

SHOREACRES, pop 288, is a settlement and CPR flag station 16 km northeast of CASTLEGAR, where the Slocan R joins the KOOTENAY R and creates a generous expanse of arable land. A number of DOUKHOBORS settled in the area and named their village Prekrasnoe, Russian for "beautiful."
