Shuswap Lake


SHUSWAP LAKE  () , 290 sq km, is a large, multi-armed lake forming the shape of a ragged H east of KAMLOOPS and north of the OKANAGAN VALLEY. It is bounded on the east and north by the MONASHEE MTS and Shuswap Highland and on the west by the arid Interior plateau. It drains west via Little Shuswap Lk and the THOMPSON R into the FRASER R. ARCHAEOLOGICAL evidence indicates the shores of the lake have been inhabited for at least 9,000 years....
