SORBY, Thomas C., architect (b 1836, Wakefield, England; d 1924, Victoria). He was already an accomplished architect in England before he immigrated to Canada in 1883. In Montreal he designed several railway stations and hotels for the CPR, then moved west in 1886 to take part in the post-fire building boom in VANCOUVER.
