St Johns Post


ST JOHNS POST was a NORTH WEST CO (NWC) fur-trading post built in 1806 where the Beatton R flows into the PEACE R east of FORT ST JOHN. The HBC retained the post when it merged with the NWC in 1821, trading with the local SEKANI and DUNNE-ZA (Beaver) people. In the fall of 1823 the HBC made plans to relocate the post farther west.
