STEEN, David Lee "Dave," decathlete (b 14 Nov 1959, New Westminster). The son of a track coach and former decathlete, he was involved in TRACK AND FIELD from an early age and was SPORT BC's high school athlete of the year in 1977. He trained at the Univ of California at Berkeley and later in Toronto and he was Canada's top decathlete for 10 years, setting the Canadian points record 11 times.
