STIEDA, Alex, cyclist (b 13 Apr 1961 Belleville, ON). Raised in COQUITLAM, he was the first N American cyclist to lead the Tour de France. He won every national junior track-CYCLING event 1979–80 and was 5th in the 3,000-m pursuit at the world junior championships.
