THULIN, Charles Auguste, entrepreneur (b 1863, Sweden; d Apr 1932, Campbell River). He immigrated to the US at age 24, worked his way across the continent and arrived at PORT MOODY in 1888. While LOGGING on the SUNSHINE COAST he pre-empted land on Malaspina Peninsula north of present-day POWELL RIVER; there he and his younger brother Fred developed the community of LUND.
