Thurston Bay


THURSTON BAY is on the west side of SONORA ISLAND, 35 km north of CAMPBELL RIVER in the jumble of islands between VANCOUVER ISLAND and the mainland. From 1914 to 1941 it was the regional centre of marine operations for the BC FOREST SERVICE and had maintenance facilities for the fleet of forest patrol vessels.
