Upper Sumas

UPPER SUMAS, 74 km southeast of VANCOUVER in the City of ABBOTSFORD, is an important DAIRY FARMING district on the southern edge of SUMAS PRAIRIE. It was a stopping place on the Yale Road and later BC ELECTRIC RWY installed an INTERURBAN station here. In the 1920s the community was known as Evanthomas.
