ABBOTSFORD lies in the central FRASER VALLEY 75 km east of VANCOUVER. A townsite, originally spelled Abbottsford, was laid out beside the CPR track in 1889, the name referring to Henry ABBOTT, superintendent of the railway's Pacific Division.
