VALDÉS Y DE FLORES, Cayetano, Spanish naval officer (b 28 Sept 1767, Seville, Spain; d 6 Feb 1835, Cádiz, Spain). He explored the INSIDE PASSAGE commanding the Mexicana and circumnavigated VANCOUVER ISLAND in summer 1792, accompanying Dionisio ALCALÁ-GALIANO in the Sutil.
