VANCOUVER FOUNDATION is Canada's largest community charitable foundation and the fifth largest in N America. Created in 1943 by the lumber executive W.J. VAN DUSEN, it has grown to include 1,200 separate endowment funds with assets totalling close to $750 million. In 2007 it dispersed $60 million in grants to community organizations in the province.
