Vancouver Opera

VANCOUVER OPERA was established in 1960 as the Vancouver Opera Assoc under Irving GUTTMAN, the founding artistic director. International stars who have appeared with the company include Joan Sutherland, Marilyn Horne and Placido Domingo. Guttman was succeeded by Richard Bonynge (1974–78), Hamilton McClymont (1978–82), Brian McMaster (1983–89) and Robert Hallam (1989–99).
