VANCOUVER WHITECAPS was a professional SOCCER team that played in the North American Soccer League 1974–84. Businessman Herb Capozzi, a former CFL player and BC LIONS manager, put together an ownership group that included C.N. "Chunky" WOODWARD and Denny Veitch. With 13 of its 17 players from BC, the Whitecaps played competitively in their first 2 seasons but missed the playoffs and did not draw the expected crowds.
