Augustine Islands


Augustine Islands (50 ̊54'00" 127 ̊16'00" S of Bradley Lagoon in Blunden Hbr, NE of Port Hardy). After Lt John Augustine Edgell, who served in BC on the survey vessel Egeria, 1903–6. See Edgell I. Formerly known as the Bonwick Is after RN officer Charles Bonwick, engineer aboard the Beaver while it was hired as a survey vessel in the 1860s (see Bonwick I), but renamed in 1903 by Cdr John Parry.
