Boscowitz Rock

Boscowitz Rock (49˚01'00" 123˚35'00" Porlier Pass, N of Galiano I, Gulf Is). After the Barbara Boscowitz, an early steamship on the BC coast, built at Victoria in 1883 for fur dealers Joseph Boscowitz (1835–1923) and James Warren (see Warren Rks). These pioneer coastal entrepreneurs would later become embroiled in legal and financial disagreements, but for a time they operated a successful fleet of sealing schooners out of Victoria.
